1. VPN Connectivity & Authentication
System Target: FortiClient VPN Endpoint Client.
Infrastructure Configuration: FortiClient utilizes Single Sign-On (SSO). If prompted explicitly for credentials, use the primary Microsoft corporate email account password.
Resolution Protocol:
* Disconnect completely from the local Wi-Fi interface, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect to clear the network lease.
* Open a web browser, navigate to the corporate email portal, and complete a fresh sign-in to refresh the active SSO token state.
* Force a full restart of the workstation to clear hung network adapter loops.
* If working remotely, power cycle the home internet modem/router by disconnecting the power source for 30 seconds.
System Boundaries: Cellular data hotspots are highly unstable for this configuration. Reliable tunnel performance or remediation cannot be guaranteed over hotspot connections.
2. Wi-Fi & Local Network Access
Remote/Home Environments:
* Force a full workstation reboot to release stale IP assignments.
* Power cycle the local internet modem and router hardware.
On-Site Branch Office Environments:
Localized Outage (Specific Office Zone Down):
Locate the local network switch servicing that specific zone. Disconnect the power cable, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect. If unresolved, power cycle the main switch inside the branch network closet.
Corporate Wi-Fi Down Only (Wired LAN Functional):
Locate the branch network closet, identify the FortiSwitch controlling the wireless access points, and power cycle the hardware.
Total Branch Outage (All Wired and Wireless Links Dark):
Locate the primary network rack and power cycle the core infrastructure devices sequentially:
* Primary Internet Cable Modem
* FortiGate Firewall
* Secondary / Backup Internet Gateway
